1. What ages are suitable for Mini Movers Family Dance?
All ages are welcome! Our classes are designed to be inclusive and cater to children from newborns to preschoolers.
2. How do children of different ages benefit from the same class?
Our classes are thoughtfully designed to cater to the diverse developmental needs of each child.
Newborns and infants will enjoy sensory stimulation, bonding with their caregivers, and early exploration of movement and sound.
Toddlers will develop gross and fine motor skills, explore space, and begin to interact with other children.
Preschoolers will have the opportunity to express their creativity, build confidence, and develop early leadership skills.
We believe in a flexible and inclusive approach. Children can learn at their own pace, and caregivers are encouraged to adapt activities to suit their child's individual needs and interests.
3. What should I bring to class?
Comfortable clothing: Dress your child in comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothes.
Sun protection: We do dance under the shade of the trees but do still strongly recommend you bring hats and sunscreen for both your child and you.
Water bottle: For both you and your child.
Your own morning tea:
While eating is not permitted during the session we invite all our Moovers to stay after the session for free play and morning tea.
4. What can I expect during the class?
Expect a fun and engaging experience filled with music, movement, and play!
Warm-up: We'll start with a gentle warm-up to get everyone moving and grooving.
Sensory exploration: We'll incorporate sensory elements like scarves, bubbles, and musical instruments to stimulate the senses.
Guided activities: We'll introduce simple dance steps, games, and songs to encourage movement and coordination.
Cool-down: We'll end the class with a gentle cool-down and some quiet time for relaxation.
Free play: Children will have time to explore the space, interact with other children, and express themselves through movement.
5. What if my child is shy or hesitant to participate?
We understand that every child is unique. Our classes are designed to be gentle and encouraging, allowing children to participate at their own comfort level. Some children may take a few sessions to feel comfortable in this new environment. They may prefer to watch from your lap initially, or they may dive right in! Every child is different and that's perfectly okay. This doesn't necessarily mean they aren't enjoying the experience; some children simply need a little more time to observe before they fully participate.
6. Can I stay and participate in the class?
Absolutely! Active parent participation is encouraged, in fact its a key part of our programme. We believe that shared movement experiences are valuable for both children and caregivers.
Some of the older children may start to explore their independence by stepping away from you and try some of the exercises on their own but they will still look to you for your support and encouragement and of course to feel safe as they navigate this new milestone.
7. Can I leave my child and come back after the session?
No. Parents must be present with their child throughout the class and are responsible for their child's safety at all times.
8. What if it rains?
We will communicate any class cancellations due to inclement weather via our website or social media, please join our private Facebook group or Instagram for updates related to our sessions.
